Musings, Beloved
Mood: A Meaningful Moment through a Meaning(less) Process, by Stars of the Lid
A lifetime of “Star Light, Star Bright,” and coin-tosses in fountains
Making the wind dance with dandelion wisps
Birthday candles and fallen lashes
Oh, the ways I wished for you
Why is the first question, “What happens when I lose you?”
Such fear keeps the worthy running from love, into the arms of chaos
Perpetual aloneness, the familiar static of yearning for dreams we run from
Sloppy substitutions, empty words, hollow connections
Pining for what could’ve been, settling into regret as if it satisfies
We all lose in the end - our lives, and with them, our loves
No enlightenment is gained by evading truth
I’d have traded a chance at love for haunting regret
If I had run from you
Dying at peace means having dared to love
In a world of uncertainty, a dimension of risk
Rejecting fear, locking eyes with inevitability
Our shadows dance, the chaos melts
I will always choose to love you

Lovely.
This is lovely 😍
